# Errors and Response Codes

The Eon API responds with standard HTTP status codes for every request.
Common response codes are documented in each method.
They're also listed in this table for quick and easy reference:

| Code  | Status                  | Description                                                                                                                            |
| ----- | ----------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `200` | `OK`                    | The request was received and has succeeded.                                                                                            |
| `202` | `Accepted`              | The request was received and is being processed. This happens when calling a method that runs asynchronous jobs.                       |
| `400` | `Bad Request`           | Some information in the request was incorrect and needs to be fixed. Running an identical call typically results in another 400 error. |
| `401` | `Unauthorized`          | The request was missing a valid access token.                                                                                          |
| `403` | `Forbidden`             | The access key's permissions don't allow it call the requested method.                                                                 |
| `404` | `Not Found`             | A resource you're requesting doesn't exist.                                                                                            |
| `500` | `Internal Server Error` | There was an internal error in Eon.                                                                                                    |
