# Manage Action Requests (Requesters)

This article explains how to submit, find, apply, and cancel your own action requests.
A user submits a request when they attempt an action that's covered by an approval rule.
For an overview of action approvals, see [About Action Approvals][about].

[about]: /data-protection/account-administration/access-management/action-approvals/about-action-approvals

You can request any action that you have permission to perform.
You don't need a separate approval permission to be a requester.

## Submit an action request

When you attempt a protected action, Eon shows you an interception modal that lists the approval rules that apply, including the number of approvers and the time periods for approval and for applying the action.

From the modal, you can submit the request.
The action isn't carried out until the request is first approved and you then apply it.

After you submit, monitor the request status so you can follow up with approvers and apply the action before it expires.

## Find your action requests

After you submit a request, track its progress on the **Action requests** page and through email notifications Eon sends automatically.

To find your submitted requests, on the

Requested by you

tab on the **Action requests** page, review the list.
You can open this page by hovering over Eon's left menu and clicking (Actions) next to your username.
The tab lists every action request you've submitted and its current status.

When a request is pending approval or approved and ready for you to apply, a notification dot is shown on your user avatar in the left menu.

Eon also sends you email notifications about your own action requests as they progress, including approval, denial, expiration, and when the action is applied.
No notification policy setup is required.

## Apply an approved action

Once all required approvers have approved your action request, it moves to **Ready to apply**.
You have a configured time period to apply the action before the request expires.

To apply an approved action:

1. On the

   My requests page

   , open the approved request.
The request shows who approved it, any messages they left, and the remaining time to apply.

2. Click **Apply**.
The action runs and the request moves to **Applied**.

If you don't apply the action before the time period elapses, the request expires.
To run the action after that, submit a new request.

## Cancel an action request

You can cancel any of your own action requests that haven't reached a terminal state.
Canceling a request stops the approval flow and prevents the action from running.

You can cancel a request from the

My requests page

.

Once canceled, the request can't be reopened.
To run the action later, submit a new request.
