# Take On-Demand Snapshots

This article explains how to take on-demand snapshots of your resources.

## Take an on-demand snapshot

To take an on-demand snapshot of a resource:

1. In your

   Inventory

   , click the resource you want to back up.
   The resource details panel opens.

2. In the **Overview** tab, click  (Take on-demand snapshot).
   A dialog with backup options opens.

3. Choose the retention period and vault you want to use.

4. Click **Take Snapshot**.

Eon begins backing up the resource.

in the Jobs page.
