# About Notification Policies

This article explains the basics of notification policies and how they work in Eon.

Notification policies are configurations that contain two main parts: A communication channel and a list of subscribed events.
When a subscribed event happens, Eon sends a notification to the notification policy's communication channel.
Events can be related to backup policies, connected source and restore accounts, vaults, restore jobs, and audit log activity.

## Choose your notification channel

For instructions, choose the communication channel you want to send notifications to.
