Manage Users
Who can use this feature
Anyone with these permissions: Manage user access
This article explains how to add, edit, and delete users in your Eon account.
Invite a user
To get started, in the Users page in your global management console, click Invite User. The Invite User panel is opened.
Before you start
-
Make sure there’s a role that has the exact permissions you want to grant to the user. If there isn’t one, you can create a custom role.
-
If your account has SAML SSO enabled, add users to groups through your identity provider instead of inviting them through Eon. This way, you can manage user access in one place.
If you want, you can still invite them to Eon with basic login, but you’ll need to manually remove them from your Eon account when their access needs to be revoked. For more information on SAML SSO, see About SAML SSO.
Add the user's details
Type the user’s personal details in the text boxes:
-
Name: The display name everyone sees in the Eon console. This name is also displayed in the audit log, allowing you to track the actions each user takes in the account.
-
Email: The email address to use for logging in and receiving notifications.
Set roles
Assign roles to the user from the Assigned roles list. For a full list of all permissions and the actions they allow, see Permissions.
-
To see a role’s permissions, click the role name.
-
For each role you want to assign, select the role so the checkbox is checked. Leave all other roles unselected.
Global admins can take any action in your Eon account, including creating and removing other global admins. Keep your account secure by assigning this role only to the people who really need it.
Eon sends the user an invitation email with their login details. After the user follows the instructions in the email, they’ll have the access you assigned. You can modify or revoke their access at any time.
