Add the Eon Plugin for Claude Code
This article explains how to add the Eon plugin to Claude Code so you can manage data protection through natural language.
Add the Eon plugin for Claude Code
The Eon plugin is distributed through a Claude Code plugin marketplace. You add the marketplace catalog first, install the plugin, reload Claude Code to activate it, then sign in to Eon through your browser.
Before you start
Before you start, make sure you have Claude Code installed. For more about plugin marketplaces in Claude Code, see Discover and install prebuilt plugins through marketplaces in the Claude Code documentation.
Install and activate the Eon plugin
-
Register the Eon plugin catalog with Claude Code:
No plugins are installed yet.
-
Install the Eon plugin from the marketplace you just added:
-
Reload plugins to activate the plugin in your current session:
Claude Code reloads installed plugins and shows counts for plugins, skills, agents, hooks, and MCP servers.
Authenticate with Eon
The Eon plugin connects to the Eon MCP server at https://mcp.eon.io/mcp through OAuth.
-
Start the authentication code from Claude Code by running
/mcp.A list of MCP servers is shown, separated into multiple sections.
-
Under Built-in MCPs, select plugin:eon:eon → Authenticate. When your browser opens, enter your Eon subdomain, then sign in with your Eon credentials.
Your Eon subdomain is unique to your Eon account. For example, if your Eon account is hosted at
vandelay.console.eon.io, your Eon subdomain isvandelay.Claude Code stores your authentication and refreshes tokens automatically. To revoke access later, run
/mcpagain and choose Clear authentication for the Eon server. For more detail, see Authenticate with remote MCP servers in the Claude Code documentation.
The Eon plugin is now available in Claude Code. You can ask Claude to help with tasks like running resource discovery, checking backup status, and browsing your inventory.
To see a list of MCP tools, run /mcp, then select plugin:eon:eon → View tools.
